The School session starts from 1st week of April every year and ends during the third week of March. New registrations start in september.
The first step towards admission is registration. After registration a mutually convenient date is fixed for an entrance test and interview of the child. Admissions are based on the performance of the child in the entrance test and availability of seats in the particular class/hostel. The School takes children from Class Nursery to XI.
Registration
Registration is open throughout the year. Children of Resident Indians, NRI’s and Foreigners can apply. Registration can be made online or by downloading the registration form and sending the filled form along with the requisite fees in the form of a demand draft payable to “Chinmaya Vidyalaya” at Solan. At par cheques are also accepted.
EntranceTest
After Registration the School will get back to the parents to fix a mutually convenient date for the entrance test/ interview which can be held either at Delhi or Solan depending on the parent’s choice. Please note that registration does not guarantee admission.
The admission test is designed so as to check the academic proficiency of the child based on the CBSE syllabus of the class in which the child is studying. It is a general test and is conducted in English, Maths and Science. One does not need to specially prepare for the test.
A resident Indian child can be admitted without an entrance test on the request of the parents if the School feels that it would be practically difficult to bring the child for an entrance test due to the distance between the School and the place of residence.
NRI's and Foreigners
NRI’s and Foreigners have the option to seek admission without the formality of passing the entrance test and interview (subject to availability of seats). In such a case admission will be granted depending on the child’s age and academic performance/ record of the previous school. The admission will be generally offered in Class I (Grade I) for a child aged 5+ as on 28th February of the year of admission. The subsequent classes can be so calculated. Generally the accepted formula is, age minus 5 ( even 6 is acceptable) = Class to be admitted
Admission To Class XI
The session for Class XI starts on the 15th of April every year. As the results of Class X are declared by CBSE in the end of May admissions to Class XI are offered on the basis of the Pre-board performance of the child in Class X and the final report of Class IX. The School offers Science (Medical and Non-Medical), Commerce and humanities streams.
All admissions to Class XI are provisional till such time the CBSE results are declared.
The provisional admission shall be confirmed after the CBSE/ICSE Board result depending on the performance of the child.
Confirmation of Admission
Once the School offers admission to a child, a non refundable amount of Rs.21000 in case of resident Indians, US$1100 for NRI's and US$2100 in case of foreigners will have to be deposited in the form of a Bank draft/Pay order payable to Chinmaya Vidyalaya at Solan within ten days of the offer for admission along with the Admission Confirmation Form (Given below in Download Forms). After receipt of this amount, admission of the child will stand confirmed. On expiry of this period fresh registration will have to be made and the whole procedure will have to be repeated. This admission confirmation amount is non refundable and will be adjusted in the total fees of the student.

1. Original School leaving/ transfer certificate countersigned by the Regional Officer CBSE/ ICSE or by the District Education Officer if the School is affiliated to any other board.

1. Copy of passport of the child and parents.
2. Letter of acceptance from the local guardian agreeing to be the guardian of the child during his/her stay at the school and accepting to take full responsibility and care of the child during short leaves, vacations and especially during emergencies.
OR
Letter of authority permitting the Principal or his representative to take all necessary action in case of an emergency.
