Talents of the children, performance of toppers of the board classes and impartiality in prize distribution is what Chinmaya Vidalaya witnessed in its Annual Day Celebration, which was held in Nauni, Himachal Pradesh on December 6th, 2013. The function very attractively witnessed the current education system of education, which has a graceful acceptance of extracurricular activities as a part of primary education. Parents who were present thrilled to see their children awesome performance and receiving prizes.
The participants motivated them, turned their eyes moist, filled them with patriotic feelings, force them to raise their eyebrows and at other time made them burst into laugh.
Graced by the Honorable G.R.Musafir, Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board Himachal Pradesh, India, the function started with the welcome of the Chief Guest by a guard of honour, followed by the lighting of the flame by the Sports Secretary, Sandeep Yadav of class XII. The March Past by the houses was marked with accuracy and precision. There were many Novelty Races shown for every child of the Junior School such as ‘Jalebi Race’,’Bursting the Balloon’, ‘Getting Ready for School’,’Skipping Race’,’Let’s Go Party’, and many others.
The performance ran into success and the active participation of teachers & students mesmerized everyone by their skills and talents. A group of nursery and kindergarten children took the stage and danced to the popular song ‘Sha-La- La-La’. Excitement seemed to double when the function proceeded with outstanding performance of Quawali and popular Himachal dance – the ‘Nati’. There were plays on the ‘Tenses’ and the ‘Von Trap Family’, which is made an everlasting impact.
Given importance to country and instilling in students the patriotic feelings, Chinmaya Vidayalay very nicely organized patriotic song ‘We can Achieve’. A group of participants sang the song while others shown their action. It turned everyone’s eyes moist. It was really a wonderful performance. There could be noticed a kind of prestige and honor in children for our country.
In fact, the children of ‘Chinmaya Vidyalaya‘, one of the best residential schools in North India, are gorgeous. Boys and girls of every class are very sensible and respectable. You can observe a unique quality in them. They develop an unparalleled character which makes them adaptable in every situation.
Sri Musafir praised the efforts of the Management, the staff and students of the school for presenting a marvelous show. The award distributor committee at the school without showing any partially announced the prize for each participant. Akriti Sharma (class X) and Shamli Sood were given special awards for their performance. Kanchan, the Head Girl was honored the best conduct prize while Simran Rana, received the Student of the Year Award. Akriti Sharma of class XI was presented a Samsung tab worth Rs 25,000/- by The Management of the School for securing a CGP of 10 in the Board Examination. Lahul Aswani received a scholarship of Rs. 5000/- for standing second in class X Board Examination.
Apart from students, faculty staff were also given awards. ‘Best Teacher Award’ went to Mr Anshul Verma. Tagore house awarded the trophy for the best all round House for the year. The award ceremony was really impressive.
On this auspicious day, Chief Guest Sri G.R.Musafir and Dr Sunil Kumar Dhand the Director of the school released the first edition of the school magazine ‘Reminiscences’. The Principal Mr Trevor Jacob thanked one and all for the great display. In fact, Chinmaya Vidyalaya is the only school in Shimla catering to a wide range of sporting and co-curricular activities apart from imparting quality education to the children.
